Abstract
We investigate the possibility that the color gauge group SU(3) may arise as a consequence of the spontaneous symmetry breaking of SU(5) c. In an earlier paper we examine the constraints imposed on the SU(5) c color model by recent measurements of the dijet mass distribution at CDF. We found that the CDF data did not exclude any region of parameter space in the model. Here we consider similar data from UA2 and find that it leads to the constraint M z ⪆ 280 GeV .
