Abstract
The nursing care and rehabilitation department should be designed to conduct a course of rehabilitation therapy for patients with diseases of the musculoskeletal system, neurological diseases, as well as to conduct a course of maintenance therapy for patients, mainly elderly and senile, suf fering from chronic diseases and in need of medical and social care. Target. To study the need for creating a nursing care and rehabilitation department for elderly and senile patients. Results. The population’s need for the creation of a nursing care and rehabilitation department was identified, the necessary resources for the department’s activities and possible undesirable risks of the depar tment were determined. Conclusion. The creation of nursing care and rehabilitation departments for elderly and senile patients is necessary in order to improve the quality of life of patients, reduce treatment costs, introduce paid ser vices, and increase the prestige of the nursing profession.
