STUDYING CHARACTERISTIC FEATURES OF THE ELECTRONIC STRUCTURE OF NITROGEN-CONTAINING COMPOUNDS BY ELECTRON PROBE MICRONALYSIS

Abstract

Primary NKα, OKα, and CKα spectra of single crystals of carbamide, sodium nitrite, sodium nitrate, and ammonium nitrate are recorded by electron probe microanalysis. The spectra of nitrogen in nitrites and nitrates exhibit a structure of resonance levels in the low-energy part of the conduction band. Nitrogen K-edge absorption coefficients for the NKα radiation and the braking background are determined. Polarization spin density of nitrogen and oxygen 2p electrons in NaNO3 is established.
