Abstract

Experimental measurements have been carried out to study the effect of iron loaded with boron carbide on the distribution and attenuation of gamma doses in a heterogeneous shield of water, iron and ordinary concrete. Measurements were performed using a reactor beam of gamma doses. It was found that the presence of boron carbide in iron thermal shield causes a decrease of dose distribution of total gamma rays measured inside the concrete layer, but no appreciable change was noticed in the distribution of this radiation in water layer. Es wurden Versuchsmessungen durchgefuhrt, um den Einfluβ von mit Borkarbid versetztem Eisen auj die Verteilung und Schiwachung von Gammadosen in einer heterogenen Abschirmung, bestehend aus Wasser, Eisen und gewohnlichem Beton, zu untersuchen.
