Abstract
Every year, Soviet teachers begin the academic year twice— once on September 1st, and again on October 1st. On the first date, the educator steps into the role of teacher and upbringer of general education school pupils; on the second, he becomes a student at a school of scientific communism, joins a methods seminar or a university of Marxism-Leninism, or enters a correspondence or evening division of a pedagogical higher education institution. … The teacher studies all his life, which is natural enough, because otherwise he ceases to exist as a mentor of youth.
