Abstract

The paper discusses the origination, the evaluation systems of Performance Appraisal (PA) in the studies on PA overseas and at home during the past two decades, and other related researches home and abroad. According to the present situation, it lays forward perspectives to future researches: 1. For the sake of its rapid development, PA study in sports organizations should borrow the fruits of PA study in other fields; 2. Improve PA system in the system of human resource management of sports organizations; 3. PA in sports organizations shall develop into a combination of individual PA and organizational PA. 4. Sports professionalization needs support of a sound and objective PA mechanism.
