Abstract

The purpose of the study was the identification of training needs and competencies for trainers at university level necessary to meet national standards and those imposed by the European Union.The study aimed academic teachers in three universities. Finally, 93 academic formators responded: 39 from University Alexandru Ioan Cuza Iasi, 24 from University George Asachi Iasi and 30 from University Stefan cel Mare Suceava, Babes Bolyai Cluj, receiving questionnaires CP 1 and CP 2 in electronic format by e-mail (online surveys).The results are analysed in a descriptive way and represent only the opinion of respondents, providing an important starting point for future studies that will be made in this area.As an investigative technique has been used electronic self. This technique was chosen because the investigation is the easiest and least expensive.We note that the most important competencies for teachers are psycho-relaţionale ones, which highlights the need to establish partnership relations with students, effective communication and to empathize with them, but to be open to student suggestions in order to improve educational approach. Specialized competencies ranks second in the hierarchy of the teaching necessary skills, although the options selected by them, their importance is noted in the work done at university level.We can say that continuous training and development needs of academics are multiple and complex, helping to build academic competencies necessary for them profession, but at the same time, they have the resources to participate in classes, activities and to train them to develop these competencies.
