The risk of CVD increases after menopause, with unfavourable changes in body fat distribution. We have designed a study protocol titled CAR-PREDIME to evaluate the effectiveness of 4 dietary patterns (Mediterranean, DASH, low fat and low carbohydrate diet) in order to reduce the prevalence and progression of CVD.
