Abstract
Cement Treated Base (CTB) is a foundation layer (base course) on flexible pavement and the development of a soil-cement foundation commonly used in construction that receives high loads. Generally, CTB is a combination of coarse aggregate (split), fine aggregate, cement, and water with zero slumps. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum cement content of the CTB mixture with variations in the cement content of 2.5%, 3%, 3.5%, 4%, 4.5%, 5%, and 5.5% of the dry weight of the aggregate and the effect of cement content on the compressive strength of the resulting CTB. Experimental research in the laboratory with 15/30 cm cylindrical specimens was carried out and analyzed. The results showed that the optimum CTB for the material used in this study was 3.75% which was obtained through the graph of the relationship between compressive strength and cement content, and from all variations of cement content made the cement content of 4% with a compressive strength of 54.21 kg/cm2 that meets the general specifications of 2018 Highways, namely 45 – 55 kg/cm2.
