Abstract

AbstractWith the development of science and technology, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) has been widely used in a variety of fields. And great application results of NMR technology also obtained in petroleum industry. Its application scope includes petroleum geology, well logging, petrochemical and other technical fields. Nowadays, the T2 spectrum distribution curve always has been used to analyze when the displacement problem is studied by NMR technology, but the applications of nuclear magnetic resonance imaging (NMR-imaging) technology are less than above mentioned aspect. In this paper, NMR-imaging technology is introduced in the study of water-flooding experiment. It can help us to directly understand the migration characteristics of water flow and the formation process of the flow channel during the process of water flooding. Then the distribution of residual oil during the process of water flooding is obtained. At the same time, the T2 spectrum distribution curves are analyzed, which is of great significance to the microscopic study of water flooding process. The method can be used to study the displacement process of water flooding more directly and effectively, and can be extended to the application of other experiments which adopt different driving medium.
