Abstract
Permeability is one of the most important characteristics for nonwoven geotextiles used in filtration systems. Based on drag-force theory and Darcy’s Law, the relation between fabric structure and permeability is theoretically discussed in this paper, and a mathematical model on the vertical permeability coefficient is also established. Comparison with experimental results shows that the theoretical model is accurate for heat-bonded nonwoven geotextiles.
