Abstract

In recent years, with development of smart grid and proposing of energy internet, fiber optic current transformer (FOCT) also develops rapidly, and becomes the main direction of current transformer. The transient performance of FOCT is to measure the transient process of power system accurately. However, researchers often ignore the transient performance, or can't simulate the actual transient situation of power system in lab, due to the high cost and big destructiveness of transient experiment. Thus, the FOCT simulation is a practical solution. Firstly, we proposed the FOCT light path model based on optical devices in this paper. According to the proposed FOCT light path model and the closed-loop signal processing module, the FOCT transient model is proposed. Finally, simulation and experiment results verify the correctness of the FOCT transient model.
