Abstract

Power transformer is not only one of the most important equipment in an electric power system, but also the most fragile equipment in it. As a result, it is of great significance to perform real-time monitoring to running state of power transformers, so as to ensure the reliable and security of them. This research cares about the method which is based on dissolved gas analysis (DGA) to monitoring the state and analyzing the faults of a power transformer. By performing realtime online monitoring to the quantity and proportion of seven specific gases dissolved in the transformer oil (including hydrogen H 2 , methane, CH 4 , acetylene C 2 H 2 , ethylene C 2 H 4 , ethane C 2 H 6 , carbon monoxide CO and carbon dioxide CO 2 ) with the method of gas chromatography, it is possible to achieve diagnosis and analysis of running state of a power transformer.
