Abstract

Inserts supporting run-flat tire is an important guarantee for safety, mobility and trafficability of military wheeled vehicles. In order to study the characteristics of inserts supporting run-flat tire after blowout, a dynamic model was established based on the UniTire model and the model was modified according to the discrete curve of tire mechanical properties under steady conditions. The Simulink/Carsim platform was built to compare the different characteristics between inserts supporting run-flat tire and normal tire under turning driving condition. The simulation results show that the characteristics of the inserts supporting run-flat tire blowout are similar to the normal tire at different speeds and loads. With the change of load and vehicle speed, the displacement and stability of inserts supporting run-flat tire is better than that of normal tire. This research provides a reference for run-flat tire under zero-pressure driving condition.
