Abstract

In order to achieve the optimal overall utilization of biogas resources and wind energy, this paper proposes a wind/biogas integration system for power generation and gas supply. In the integration system, less wind power is used to heat the biogas pool to raise and keep the fermentation temperature, while most wind power combining with biogas power are directly supplied for users. The integration system overcomes the difficulties involving low fermentation temperature of biogas production and uncertainty and fluctuation of wind power in the large-scale utilization. By adopting the innovative technologies, including low-cost and high-efficiency fixed-pitch variable-speed wind turbine, high-efficiency biogas pool with heat pumps using wind power and integrative intelligent control system, it is expected to make 20∼30% cost saving of wind power and 2 times increase of biogas output over conventional technologies. The integration system will independently provide a stable power source and daily gas for small towns, large-scale farms, remote areas, islands, farmers and villages, and it reveals a broad application prospect.
