Abstract

The current research work contains the study of density properties and the vibration analysis of LM22 with Silicon carbide and flyash reinforcement to form a metal matrix composite (MMC) and is compared with the parent material. LM22 is majorly used in the automobile industry as it is easy to cast, machine as well as to weld. The LM22 metal matrix Composites with 3–5 percent of reinforcement is found to have greater density than the base material. The post annealing damping ratio obtained is lesser than the base material however, it was observed that by increasing the reinforcement percentage it increased by 0.5%.
