Abstract

Objective To explore the short-term effect of high dose methylprednisolone (MP) pulse therapy for acute spinal cord injury,to observe its complications,and to summary nursing experience.Method We retrospectively reviewed nursing process of 80 patients who received high-dose MP pulse therapy with acute spinal cord injury in hospital.Results Patients receiving high-dose MP pulse therapy didn't appear any serious complications,at the same time sensory and motor function improved significantly,Conclusions For patients with acute spinal cord injury,the use of high-dose MP pulse therapy can be effective in preventing secondary spinal cord injury and improving spinal function.During the application of MP,close nursing and observation is one of the keys to ensure successful treatment.
