Abstract

Aza-Henry is one of effective and fundamental carbon-carbon bond-forming reactions in organic chemistry. This reaction is also a useful method for preparation of versatile compounds containing nitrogen atom as well as for the synthesis of many bioactive molecules. The objective of this paper was to investigate the synthesis of β-nitroamines in mild conditions using inexpensive NaHCO3 as a catalyst. This process was efficient and compatible with a wide range of imines to afford a direct access to β-nitroamine compounds in very good yields up to 89% and high selectivities.
