Abstract

High entropy alloy FeCoNiCrAl coating was prepared using air plasma spraying, and the semiconductor properties of the passivation film were studied in 5% NaCl solution. The element distribution mappings of the coating revealed slight oxidation on the surface of the as-prepared coating, with Al and O combining closely. The Mott-Schottky and XPS measurement showed that the M−S curve of FeCoNiCrAl coating displays an S-type. As the potential increase, the properties of the passivation film also change, which is due to the different properties of the coating formed by different elements, and Fe and Cr dominate the performance of passivation films.
