Abstract

Objective To investigate the correlation between hemodialysis patients' self-efficacy and self-management behavior. Methods Using the United States Stanford University chronic centers for Disease Education Research self-efficacy and self-management behavior questionnaire survey was conducted in 89 cases of hemodialysis patients. Results The score of self-efficacy for hemodialysis patients was (38.51 ± 10.91),with 22.47% patients of high level,43.82% patients of medium level, and 33.7% patients of low level. The score of self management behavior was (76.38 ± 14.88),and its impact factor were the occupation, and dialysis frequency (P < 0.05).There was a significant positive correlation between self-efficacy and self-management behaviors of hemodialysis patients (r =0.43,P < 0.01).Conclusions There is a close relationship between hemodialysis patients' self-efficacy and self-management behaviors, clinicians should be based on self-efficacy theory to mobilize the patient' s own potential,so as to improve patients' self-management behavior.
