Abstract

The performance of the shielding door directly affects the shielding effectiveness (SE) of the shielding enclosure. In practical measurement, it is found that the SE reference level of a shielding door is sometimes tested in an incorrect way, and subsequently, wrong SE result is obtained. In this paper, the limit method is employed to analyze the SE reference level of a shielding door. The relationship is determined between the SE results of the shielding door, the shielding enclosure opened, and the shielding enclosure closed. Furthermore, the SE requirement for an accompanying shielding enclosure is determined. Finally, a typical shielding enclosure is modeled and simulated. The conclusion is useful for testing the SE of a shielding door in a correct way. It is also helpful for engineers to choose a suitable accompanying shielding enclosure.
