Abstract

Objective To discuss the current status and influencing factors of illness uncertainty in hospitalized patients with chronic kidney diseases (CKD).Methods Totals of 110 patients with chronic kidney diseases were investigated with MUIS-A,self-designed personal material and influencing factors questionnaire.Results A total of 106 out of 110 questionnaires were recovered with the efficient rate of 96.4%.The total score of their uncertainty was 55-117,and the average score was (86.73 ± 15.35).Totals of 75 cases scored 78-120,as the moderate illness uncertainty.The score of very dimension of illness uncertainty was (39.05 ±8.20) for ambiguity,(18.42 ± 4.61) for inconsistency,(13.64 ± 3.97) for complexity,and (15.61 ± 4.46)for unpredictability.Patients of different ages,degrees of education,locations,marriage status,per capital incomes,payment patterns,numbers of symptoms,natures of disease,CKD stages,religions,and situations of fatigue,urine foam,and edema had no significantly different degree of illness uncertainty (P >0.05).And patients of different courses of disease,numbers of channels to get knowledge,and situations of enuresis nocturna increase and gross hematuria had significantly different degree of illness uncertainty (P <0.05).Conclusions Patients with chronic kidney diseases had moderate level of illness uncertainty,and symptoms,information and course of disease were the main influencing factors.
