Abstract

This paper studies the newly proposed multiple access scheme-hybrid code time division multiple access (CTDMA). The average probability of error of the CTDMA system in fading free, Rayleigh fading, and Rician fading channels are investigated. The analysis and numerical results show that the CTDMA system with adequate number of time slots can achieve better performance than the TDMA and CDMA systems when the E/sub b//N/sub 0/ is large. The optimal number of time slots per frame for the CTDMA system is also derived.
