Abstract

In this paper, the output performance of an aerospace pyrotechnic device by simulation is studied. First, the change curve of pressure vs. time of single igniter and double ignition is respectively simulated by SIMULINK simulation software. The result shows that the maximum pressure of the single igniter is 16MPa when the time reaches to 2.5ms. While, with the double ignition, the maximum pressure is slightly twice larger than with the single, but the time becomes shorter. Then, pressure curves under different structures are obtained by the AUTODYN finite element simulation software. The result shows that the maximum pressure part of tooling locates at the connection of two cavities, and its peak pressure does not exceed 450MPa. So, 45# steel can meet the tooling design requirements. In this paper, the SIMULINK and AUTODYN are combined to analysis the output performance of a space pyrotechnic device, and the numerical model is built, which provides a reference for engineering and test design.
