Study on the Minimum Bend Radius of GRP Curved Jacking Pipe

Abstract

The central area of the Haikou city water network power engineering adopted GRP (Glass fiber reinforced plastics) jacking pipe in curved line for the first time in China. Nominal diameter of GRP jacking pipe is 1400mm, and single pipe length is 2m. The cushion thickness between joints is 15mm, and bending radius is 260m. This project was a complete success. Bending radius of this project is less than the minimum bend radius allowed of concrete jacking pipe, which clearly shows the advantage of GRP jacking pipe. This paper will combine this project to study the minimum bend radius of GRP jacking pipe, obtained bend radius formula, which will have some significance of the design and construction of GRP jacking pipe in curved line.
