Abstract

9SiCr steel belongs to low alloy steel, hardenability, maximum hardness and tempering stability is good and the price is very low. This paper mainly studies the effect of different heat treatment conditions on the microstructure and property of 9SiCr steel. The results show that 920°C normalizing + 860°C quenching + 220°C tempering, and ultimately get cryptocrystalline martensite, uniform fine-grained carbides and a small amount of retained austenite. After tempering hardness value reached 56HRC, while maintaining a high hardness of hardened steel, high strength and excellent wear resistance, and eliminate quenching stress, improve the toughness; at 920°C and 860°C normalizing, quenching, the low temperature of 180°C after tempering has been tempered martensite and martensite phases were very fine the carbide, vulnerable to erosion, a black needle under the microscope, while the residual austenite white; after the final 920°C to 860°C normalizing quenching, the tempering at 220°C, is a kind of heat treatment process of 9SiCr steel is good, which provides technical support for the manufacturing of the tool steel.
