Abstract
To study the relation between urban elderly leisure motivation and travel behavior has great practical significance for urban transport policy adjustments and public transport service mode innovation under an aging society in China. In order to explore the special influence of urban elderly travel restriction to its leisure motivation, the elderly leisure motivation and design survey scheme based on the “Push-Pull” theory were analyzed. Six hundred thirty three valid sample and 74 in-depth interviews of the elderly over 60 years old who are retired in Kunming were studied. The relation among leisure activity and travel behavior characteristic variables was calculated through structural equation model method. Some research results were obtained. First, the elderly leisure motivation indirectly affects the travel behavior mainly through leisure site features. This has a significant positive effect. Performance is defined as the leisure purpose and the leisure environment cognition that indirectly affects the travel distance, travel mode and travel frequency through the level of leisure place, scale, and environmental characteristics. Second, unlike the impact of commuters attribute parameters, the elderly’s age and living state have relatively significant direct impact on leisure travel behavior. Performance is defined as: age has relatively significant restriction on travel mode, travel distance, and travel frequency; living state has relatively significant restriction on departure time.
