Abstract

In the present study, we used L615 leukemic mice to detect the killing effect of psoralen on mice leukemic cells. The results showed that psoralen had markedly phototoxic effect on L615 mice leukemic cells, (1) L615 mice leukemic cells were treated with psoralen (20µg/ml) for 1h, then irradiated with UVA for 10 min and inoculated to 615mice, the survival time of which were prolonged more than 100d; (2) The mixture of 615 mice marrow cells (1x107/ml) and 10% splenocytes of L615 leukemic mice treated with the same method and inoculated to 615 mice, the survival time of which was prolonged by 189.6% compared with the control group. The phototoxic effect of psoralen was about 10% on bone marrow cells of normal 615. Key words: L615 mice; psoralen; bone marrow purging; ultraviolet irradiation
