Abstract
With people’s constant pursuit of aesthetic, packaging is not only to protect products in the process of circulation, but also has a certain aesthetic value. In packaging design, characters, patterns, colors, styles and other elements are coordinated with each other to form the packaging of products. Taking Chinese characters as an example, this paper studies whether font types will have an aesthetic impact on food packaging design, and verifies the aesthetic impact of font types on food packaging through experiments. The experiment is divided into two parts: pre-experiment and formal experiment. The pre-experiment helps to select representative font types for presentation on different food packaging in the formal experiment. The experimental results show that the font type has a certain impact on the aesthetic of food packaging, and different font types give people different psychological feelings on different food packaging. The conclusion of this experiment can help designers consider the impact of font types on packaging when designing, and carry out creative design of packaging fonts on the basis of font types suitable for the packaging, so as to bring consumers a better aesthetic experience with strong appeal.
