Abstract

It has been shown that electromagnetic radiation may cause arc discharge on aircraft and ignite fuel steam, which can cause serious harm to aircraft. In this paper, the potential risk points of aviation vehicle fuel system are combed, and the mechanism of arc discharge caused by electromagnetic radiation is analyzed. Four simulation models were designed to simulate the risk of fuel steam facing strong electromagnetic radiation in the extreme case of small probability, and the test equipment was designed to simulate metal tank and composite fuel tank respectively. Isolated metal conductors and metal electrodes were placed in the two test devices, and electromagnetic radiation was strengthened in the reverberation chamber for the test equipment filled with mixed combustible fuel steam. It was found that none of the four test conditions was ignited.
