Abstract

SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+/light conversion agent is a new luminous material, which can emit red light in the darkness was fabricated by combining light conversion agent on to SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ particles. There is energy transfer from SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ to light conversion agent, leading to red emitting light. In order to investigate the energy transfer efficiency, several kinds of SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+/light conversion agent containing different light conversion agent were artificially manufactured, and the energy transfer efficiency from SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ to light conversion agent was calculated. The results showed that under near ultraviolet (UV) excitation, SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+/light conversion agent exhibited the yellow–green emission of the SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ and the red emission of the light conversion agent and the emission color can be tuned from yellow–green to orange with variation of the light conversion agent. And the energy transfer efficiency increased and then decreased gradually as the concentration of the light conversion agent increased.
