Abstract

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of compound traditional Chinese medicine Huotanquyu granules on the histopathology of the early cochlea of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats and its effect on glucose metabolism. MethodsA single intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin at a dose of 55 mg/kg was used to create a diabetic rat model.After successful modeling, the group was randomly divided into 5 groups, i.e., high, medium and low dose Huotanquyu granules groups (treatment group), model control group and western medicine Betahistine group (positive control group), 10 animals in each group, and 10 normal control groups, observes the changes of cochlear histopathology, blood sugar and ultrastructure of rats in each group. ResultsHuotanquyu granules can reduce the thickening of cochlear stria vascularis and basement membrane in the early stage of diabetic rats, reduce the elevated blood sugar of diabetic rats, and make the sparse spiral ganglion cells compact. ConclusionHuotanquyu granules can improve the pathological changes of the damaged cochlea in the diabetic rat model to achieve the purpose of treatment, and has a good hypoglycemic effect.The improvement of cochlear microvascular disease by Huotanquyu formula granules may be the pathological basis for improving hearing loss.
