Abstract

Abstract The CFETR (Chinese Fusion Engineering Testing Reactor) vacuum vessel (VV) is one of the key components of CFETR which with d -shape section, double-layer and toroidal structure design. In order to certify the feasibility and effectiveness of key manufacturing and inspection processes, a 1/32 CFETR VV mock-up with full size was manufactured. Considering on the large-size and complex spatial surface features of the VV mock-up, the study on special dimensional metrology and alignment methods are very important and necessary. In this paper, some special dimensional metrology and alignment methods which were used during different manufacturing processes were introduced. The main contents include fiducials datum design, using laser tracker system or measuring arm to do alignment and dimension inspection during 1/32 CFETR VV mock-up manufacturing process and error analysis of measurement uncertainty and measured object. These dimension inspection processes play a crucial role in controlling the position accuracy and welding deformation of production.
