Abstract

Nanostructured catalysts Nd2O3, Cr2O3 and NdCrO3 were prepared by precipitation method. Catalytic effect of the catalysts on the process of thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate (AP) was studied by differential thermal analysis. The structure and morphology of the catalysts prior to and after the thermal decomposition of AP were characterized by X-ray powder diffractometer and scanning electron microscopy. Our experiments suggest the real catalytic species play an important role in the overall thermal decomposition of AP for this bicomponent nanooxides catalytic system.
