Abstract

The concrete column with reinforcing bars in core refers that allocate longitudinal reinforcement and stirrup in the core area of the cross section of the concrete column. In this paper, a normal concrete column and a core reinforcement column are analyzed. In the same conditions (the same material, the same section and slenderness ratio) the cross section is analyzed by Xtract cross section analysis software. Through comparison and analysis of the yield surface curve and curve of moment-curvature, it can be drawn that: compared to normal concrete column, the core reinforcement column can significantly improve the bearing capacity and deformation capacity of the whole column; if the volume stirrup rate and the longitudinal reinforcement ratio of the core area increase, the range of the yield surface curve of the column will grow, the bearing capacity of the component will increase. As for seismic design of short columns under high axial pressure, it has a good engineering significance for improving the load-carrying and deformation ability of the short column and meeting the requirements of seismic design.
