Abstract

This study presents a kind of new model that correlates air and pavement temperatures in bituminous pavement. Based on abundant measured temperature data in Henan Province, China, distribution laws in asphalt concrete pavement temperature are studied detailed and the dependency between air and pavement temperature is discussed by the method of regression analysis. Considering the impact on asphalt concrete pavement temperature caused by rising and falling of air temperature in different time periods, the relationships between pavement temperature and air temperature in different air changing periods are studied respectively. Finally, the prediction models of asphalt pavement temperature based on various air temperatures time periods are established. Comparisons between measured and predicted asphalt pavement temperatures indicate that these models are equipped with comprehensive applicability and excellent accuracy.
