Abstract

With the continuous increase of wind power in power system, the share of conventional generation and the frequency regulation capacity of power system is gradually decreasing. In the case of high power loss or system failure, it is very easy to cause frequency failure of the whole system. Integrating large-scale wind power without frequency regulation capability into power system will bring enormous challenges to the power system's reliable operation. For this reason, the world's major wind power developed countries and regions have all put forward clear requirements for the frequency regulation capability of wind power through grid-connection guidelines. Electric power workers in China are also thinking about standardizing the primary frequency regulation capability test and simulation technology of wind power. Taking Fujian power grid as a example, this paper study the refined mathematical modeling, primary frequency regulation control technology, and the detection and evaluation methods of wind power peak-shaving and frequency regulation performance. Then the technical requirements for wind power peak-shaving and frequency regulation capability is analyzed. The development of related research provides important information for clarifying the frequency regulation output characteristics of wind farms. By further enhancing the "grid-friendliness" of wind power, it will improving the safe and stable operation level of power grid with a high share of wind power in the future.
