Abstract

Game companies spend years researching and developing games they release into the market, only to have it copied1 just days after its release. The issue of piracy and similar games being released into the market results in significant losses for many game companies. In this study, 〈Cuphead〉, a run and gun action game2 that incorporates trained 2D animators in order to have a unique style, was used to analyze the effects of unique design and illustration, which prevents others from copying its contents. The study used 〈Cuphead〉 as a key model to plan a successful strategy for the development of the shooting game 〈Galaxy Kids〉.
