Abstract

Abstract Multi-point forming (MPF) is an advanced method of plate forming with its characteristics of dieless, rapid, and flexible. In this paper, the springback of Magnesium alloy (Mg alloy) plates was researched under different geometrical conditions, mechanical properties, and constitutive models with the MPF method. The studies showed that the springback of Mg alloy plates reduced with the thickness of the plates, increased with curvature radius, and enlarged with the initial yield strength. Meanwhile, the simulated results indicated that the constitutive model had a significant influence on the springback of the Mg alloy plate forming.
