Abstract

ABSTRACT In this study, malachite (CuCO 3 .Cu(OH) 2 ) ore obtained from Yozgat Region was leached with ammonium nitrate (NH 4 NO 3 ) solution. Ammonium nitrate concentration, stirring speed, leaching temperature and leaching time were investigated. After crushing and milling, the leaching of the malachite ore was carried out. 250 ml of ammonium nitrate [NH 4 NO 3 ] solutions, prepared at concentrations of 2 to 5 M, containing 0,5 g of malachite ore, were leached in a heated magnetic stirrer at the desired stirring speed, time and temperature. Characterization of malachite ore was performed by XRF, XRD, grain size measurement, SEM and mapping analysis. Wet analytical method was used to determine the amount of copper dissolution after leaching. As a result of the studies, an increase in the copper dissolution was observed due to the increase in the temperature, stirring speed and ammonium nitrate concentration. Copper dissolution (X cu = 0.826) was achieved by stirring the solution at a concentration of 5 M at 60 ° C for 90 minutes at a stirring speed of 500 rpm.
