Abstract

In this paper, a sliding mode variable structure control (SMC) strategy in αβ coordinate system is proposed for three-phase converter on grid side. The SMC strategy for grid-side converter in dq coordinate system not only occupies a lot of compute cycles to take coordinate transformation, but also causes nonnegligible errors and significant decline in calculation accuracy. In order to solve this problem, an αβ-based SMC strategy is proposed in this paper, which greatly reduces the calculation complexity in static coordinate system and achieves almost the same control effects as dq-based SMC strategy. At last, the proposed strategy is compared with dq-based SMC strategy and verified in the simulation based on Matlab/Simulink.
