Abstract

The physical optics (PO) and method of equivalent currents (MEC) are applied in the simple and fast calculation of the RCS of the target over the sea surface with different wind speeds. The PO, MEC and the fourth-path model are employed in the derivation of a closed form expression for computing the scattered field of a perfectly conducting target located over the rough sea surface. The four-path model is invoked in a first-order approximation of the half-space contribution to the scattering mechanisms. The rough sea surface with different wind speeds is described by a simple empirical formula. The calculated results show that the rough sea surface with different wind speeds affects the RCS of the target significantly.
