Abstract

In this paper, a simplified third-order thermal model suitable for analyzing the temperature of high-speed generator inner is implemented. Discretization recursion algorithm based on the simplified thermal model is also presented, which is suitable for calculating with single-chip computer. By means of the discretization recursion algorithm, the key point temperatures inside generator can be estimated both steady state and transient-state so that the generator is protected by the calculation result. The simulation results demonstrate the feasibility using a simplified thermal model to protect the high-speed generator from overheating. The simplified model is got from a prototype machine and is also adapted to a wide range of generator sizes and ratings.
