Abstract

ABSTRACT To address environmental damage, improve the efficiency of inhibitors in preventing the spontaneous combustion of coal, an antioxidant-type high-efficiency composite inhibitor was synthesized by solution polymerization. Using scanning electron microscope, water retention test, temperature programmed test, thermogravimetric and other experiments, the inhibition mechanism of inhibitor on coal oxidation was elucidated. The results showed that the new inhibitor successfully realized the resource utilization of EP, and ATP was added to mix well with EPH. Mg and Al elements were evenly distributed on the hydrogel surface. The water absorption rate increased by 21% compared with SAP, and it had good water retention effect within 12 h. This study not only solves the environmental pollution caused by EP, but also successfully realizes the resource utilization, which provides a new scientific basis for inhibiting coal spontaneous combustion and developing new inhibitors.
