Abstract

This paper presents an innovative method of polyethylene plastic concrete (PC) to enhance the recycling rate of waste polyethylene. Based on experimental results, low-density polyethylene (LDPE) was selected as the binder, and a suitable gradation for PC was recommended. LDPE PC was mixed at 200 °C for 210 s and compacted 50 times on both sides. The workability was improved by adding a flow agent, with a 9% content determined through water stability evaluation indexes. Comprehensive volume and performance evaluations established an optimum binder-stone ratio of 5.7%. LDPE PC exhibited excellent high temperature, low temperature, and anti-scattering performance, making it promising for road applications.
