Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects and possible mechanisms of perioperative music thera-py on Obstetric and Gynecologic patients.Methods 85 patients were randomly divided into music group (44 pa-tients) and control group (41 patients).Patients in music group listened to their favorite music during peri-op-eration period,while patients in control group received routine nursing care.All patients in self-rating anxiety scale (SAS),blood pressure,heart rate and visual analogue scale (VAS) were recorded and the scares were compared between the two groups.Results The degree of anxiety in music group was significantly lower than that of control group (P<0.05).Moreover,in music group,the blood pressure,heart rate and pain score were de-creased compared with contrdol group,and the differences were statistical significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Music therapy may reduce anxiety before operation,stabilize the blood pressure and heart rate during operation and relief pain and progress the health after operation in obstetric and gynecologic patients.
