Abstract

In this paper, a new type of geocell is used to reinforce asphalt mixture to improve its performance. For the reason, an experimental evaluation of the effect of high-temperature resistant geocell reinforcement on compressive strength, tensile strength, Shearing property, water stability and fatigue performance in asphalt mixture has been developed. So, uniaxial compressive test, splitting test, uniaxial penetration test, freeze-thaw splitting test and splitting fatigue test were carried out under different temperature conditions. The results show that after geocell reinforcing, the compressive strength and tensile strength of the asphalt mixture are enhanced, the shear performance is improved due to the high temperature flow deformation is restrained, and the strength reduction rate after freeze-thaw cycle is less than that of unreinforced asphalt mixture, the fatigue life is also increased. This indicates that the geocell obviously improves various aspects performance of the asphalt mixture.
