Abstract

In this paper, Pb(Zr,Ti)O 3–Pb(Zn 1/3Nb 2/3)O 3–Pb(Sn 1/3Nb 2/3)O 3–Pb(Mn 1/3Sb 2/3)O 3 (named briefly PZT–PZN–PSN–PMS) quinary system piezoelectric ceramics with various Zr/Ti ratio were prepared by traditional method. The properties of this quinary system piezoelectric ceramics were studied and the effect of Sr 2+, Ba 2+ doping on dielectric constant ε r 3 T and Curie temperature T c were investigated. What's more, the dielectric loss tan δ and dielectric constant ε r 3 T under the strong alternating electric (AC) field were discussed. The partial substitution of Pb 2+ with Sr 2+ and Ba 2+ improves ε r 3 T and decreases slightly T c. The tan δ and ε r 3 T under strong AC fields sharply increase because of the movement and vibration of domain walls resulting from AC field. The good general results are as follows: Q m = 1671, ε r 3 T = 1294, d 33 = 285 × 10 −12CN −1, tan δ = 0.004 (1 V/mm field), K p = 0.522, T c = 295 °C and the coercive electric field E c = 19 kV cm −1. When AC field increases to 200 and 400 V/mm, tan δ is equal to 0.013 and 0.041, respectively. The above results were obtained for the certain composition doping 2 mol% Sr 2+ and 2 mol% Ba 2+.
