Abstract

Concrete and mortar are commonly used materials for building growth and renovation worldwide. The fine aggregate and the coarse aggregate, play a significant role in the mix design to prepare mortar and concrete. Coarse aggregate is second expensive material in concrete. River sand is already becoming an endangered resource. Consequently it impacts the economy. Due to shortage of Fine and Coarse Aggregates in the building sector, so it is important to consider an alternate source that is to be fully or partial substitution in order to avoid harm due to unnecessary environmental deterioration and to maximize the durability of concrete partial replacing cement using Fly ash. This research study will consider the Fine Aggregate is M−sand and the partial replacement of coarse aggregate with PCB Trimmer (Printed Circuit Board) Trimmer. Tamil Nadu is second largest PCB Trimmers is frequently developing state in India. Physical properties tests were conducted on concrete material used. Based on the preliminary tests on the M30 concrete as a moderately substitution of the blue metal aggregate with PCB Trimmers. Different substitution rates of 0%, 5.5%, 11% and 16.5% of 20 mm PCB Trimmers Mix 1 –50% of 10 mm PCB Trimmers additional based on 20 mm PCB Trimmers percentage with 10% fly ash, Mix 2 –50% of 10 mm additional based on 20 mm PCB Trimmers percentage without fly ash, Mix 3 –25% of 10 mm PCB Trimmers additional based on 20 mm PCB Trimmers percentage with 10% fly ash, Mix 4 –25% of 10 mm additional based on 20 mm PCB Trimmers percentage without fly ash. Compressive, Flexural and Split Tensile tests shows improved by an optimal proportion of coarse aggregates being combined with 20 mm and with additional 10 mm PCB Trimmers with Fly Ash compared to standard concrete both with and without Fly ash.
