Abstract
ABSTRACT In order to prevent spontaneous combustion of coal effectively and conveniently and achieve the simultaneous control of two main factors causing coal spontaneous combustion, namely, coal and oxygen, the traditional inhibitors and an organic alkaline sugar deoxidizer are mixed to form a new type of organic deoxidizing inhibitor solution. The oxygen consumption rule of organic deoxidizing inhibitors added with different types and masses of inorganic salt inhibitors (MgCl2, CaCl2, and NaCl) and inhibitory effect were studied through experiments. The results showed that the oxygen consumption rate decreases with the increase in the mass of CaCl2 and MgCl2. In contrast, the oxygen consumption rate did not change obviously with the increase in the mass of NaCl. The oxygen consumption rate decreases with the decrease in the oxygen concentration in the experimental vessel. When the same amount of inorganic salts was added, the oxygen consumption rates were in the following order: . The rate of change in the oxygen consumption rate of the deoxidizing inhibitors depends of the type and mass of inorganic salt. The organic deoxidizing inhibitors can increase the oxygen consumption effect on the basis of the single resisting effect of the conventional inhibitors, and has a better inhibitory effect for coal spontaneous combustion prevention.
